Double Glazing

Double Glazing

What is double glazing?

Double-glazed doors and windows consist of two panes of glass separated by a layer of air unlike normal doors and windows which have only one layer of glass.

Why double glazing?

Double glazing has many benefits over single glazing (where there’s just one pane of glass and no air layer):

Keeps warm air in, meaning your property is better insulated. This results in fewer draughts and cheaper electricity bills.

Keeps noise out – you’ll hear far less noise from outside with double glazing.

Reduces the amount of condensation on the inside of your windows.

Heightens security – double glazed glass is more difficult to break than single glazing. We strongly recommend using 2 x 6.38mm intruder proof glass.

At the end of the day, your home will be safer and more comfortable to live in
